Supervises and manages all aspects of the Maintenance functions in the manufacture of disc brake calipers, anti-lock braking systems and electric parking brake. Ensures that the support required to aid the manufacturing process is available, and efficient, using an employee involvement and continuous improvement approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Establishes, or adjusts work procedures as necessary to meet production schedules.
Plans and implements projects, and suggests changes/modifications in working conditions to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.
Plans and implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Plans and coordinates project work related to installation or modification of equipment.
Writes and updates standards.
Maintains records.
Conducts necessary meetings as required.
Completes employee performance appraisals, and discusses with employees at scheduled times.
Reviews and authorizes employee time records and overtime.
Interprets company policies, enforces safety regulations, and counsels employees as required.
Ensures that training of employees in Maintenance is on-going, and up-to-date.
Reviews and authorizes employee suggestions, and encourages employee participation in the Suggestion Process.
Considers morale, and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve team goals and improve the work processes in the Maintenance area.
Coordinates Corrective Actions as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises 20 - 25 employees in the Maintenance department, including Technicians and Non-Exempt administrative personnel.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or 5 to 7 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must be able to function in a team environment by working with, and cooperating with others.
Must be able to clearly communicate in both written and oral forms with others.
