We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the healthcare team at a State of Ohio Correctional Facility. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing essential nursing care to an underserved population while working in a secure, structured environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and professionalism, while maintaining compliance with facility and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care and medical triage to inmates under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and/or Physician.
- Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations as prescribed.
- Assess, document, and report on patient health status and responses to care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and assist in crisis situations as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care and adherence to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Comply with all institutional, state, and federal policies and procedures.
- Active RN license in the State of Ohio (in good standing).
- Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience (correctional, ER, psych, or med/surg preferred).
- Must be flexible with scheduling — shifts may change based on facility staffing needs.
- Availability required for holidays, including:
Thanksgiving Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Christmas Day - Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
