We have an extremely exciting and immediate opportunity at our Development Center in Lebanon, OH to hire a Senior Certified Flavorist – Sweet Goods
! In this role, you will manage large and/or complex flavor development projects and research initiatives focused on sweet goods applications, including bakery, confectionery, desserts, dairy, and related categories. You will also provide project direction to R&D, Technology, Sales, Category Management, and other internal teams as necessary.

As a technical expert, formulate new flavor creations or modify existing flavors to meet customer requirements, internal testing needs, or new technology development. The Senior Flavorist will effectively drive functional business growth in support of company goals and objectives. This position will develop, train, motivate, and manage personnel as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create flavors for sweet goods applications that meet the regulatory, cost, sensory, and performance guidelines outlined in R&D projects. Modify existing flavors and/or create new flavors to meet customer project requirements, including applications such as bakery, confectionery, desserts, dairy, and related products.
• Work with internal teams to manage, communicate, and deliver upon agreed timelines. Notify management and sales representatives of any expected delays, issues, or other project concerns in a timely manner. Follow all procedures for documentation of flavor specifications and project completion.
• Ensure that all flavors created are sound, technically accurate, and easily manufacturable. Enter all formulas along with related technical information and manufacturing instructions into the appropriate database(s). Assure proper flavor labeling and regulatory status of new and existing formulas.
• Retain samples of all newly created flavors, keys, and other modifications. Monitor these over time and evaluate any technical problems, shelf-life considerations, or performance issues in sweet goods applications. Notify supervisors and significant stakeholders and take appropriate action if any stability, processing, or application issues are observed.
• Provide technical flavor expertise and customer support, both internal and external, for assigned sweet goods market and project segments. Make technical presentations to customers and the sales force as needed.
• Assist in the general upkeep, maintenance, and stocking of the Flavor Laboratory, including lab cleanliness, raw material and flavor sample archival, and inventory management.
• Transfer technology and detailed flavor processing instructions to the necessary parties, including application and production teams.
• Manage Flavorists and Technicians’ daily work efforts, if required.
• Support internal teams with sweet goods-related issues or challenges as assigned.
