CAD Designer

A. O. Smith Corporation seeks a CAD Designer to support design and documentation of water heating and treatment equipment. The position is hybrid, offering onsite, remote, or hybrid options.

• Draft designs under the direction of engineers and may manage some work independently.
• Assist engineers in the design cycle for new products.
• Create and modify engineering drawings and specifications using computer‑aided design software.
• Participate in daily engineering changes and CAD work as directed by engineers or designers.
• Work on advanced projects as experience grows.
• Maintain CAD data and support the PLM system including BOM and engineering change processes.

• Associate Degree in Engineering Graphics, Engineering Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of related work experience or training.
• Solid Works certification preferred; SAP experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards and sheet‑metal design.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Project management skills – ability to meet deadlines and understand the full project scope.
• Experience managing 2–3 full design projects with successful launch.
• Fast turnaround on design requests and familiarity with manufacturing processes.

Associate Degree in a related field.
