The Assistant Manager of Digital Payments provides oversight for all aspects of the Digital Payments Department. This position encourages innovation, efficiency, and growth within the team to improve banking processes, manage compliance, and inspire excellence. The Assistant Manager of Digital Payments supports management, team members, and customers with expertise in commercial payment rails such as ACH, remote deposit capture, wire transfers, and instant payments, as well as services such as debit cards, credit cards, online/mobile banking and other digital banking functions.
This position reports to the Digital Payments Manager and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company’s values and supporting the mission.
- Provide leadership and support to the Digital Payments team, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented culture.
- Provide oversight for all aspects of the Digital Payments Department, including procedures, product development, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff. Identify professional development opportunities and provide performance feedback on an ongoing basis.
- Encourage innovation, efficiency, and growth within the team to improve banking processes, manage compliance and inspire excellence.
- Assist in driving operational efficiency through strategic initiatives.
- Maintain familiarity with department processes and procedures, assisting in development and ongoing maintenance as changes occur.
- Maintain an acceptable annual audit rating for department processes.
- Support management, team members, and customers with expertise in commercial payment rails such as ACH, remote deposit capture, wire transfers, and instant payments, as well as services such as debit cards, credit cards, online/mobile banking and other digital banking functions.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program.
- Attend training as requested.
- Participate in outside community activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in electronic banking to include online banking, ACH, ATM/debit card, debit card disputes, credit cards, wire transfers, instant payments, etc.
- 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Solid understanding of banking regulations, compliance requirements, audit standards and risk management relevant to digital payments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of digital payment products and services as well as operations and industry trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking software platforms.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing industry trends and evolving technology within digital payments.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge and expertise to department policies and procedures using knowledge of banking principles and practices.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while accomplishing daily tasks.
