PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE/DIETARY AIDE (FULL AND PART TIME)
Location: Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, 1411 Baddour Parkway, Lebanon, TN 37087
Schedule: Full time and part time; days vary, 6:00 am-6:30 pm
Pay: $16.00 per hour.
Patient Dining Associates provide meals, help patients make menu selections, assemble and deliver trays, and support patient safety and satisfaction. They work on assigned units in a healthcare facility and assist with dietary requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Help patients understand menu selections and work with nursing to ensure nutritional compliance.
- Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner. Retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
- Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and follow HIPAA policies.
- Follow HACCP guidelines for food handling, station cleaning, and tray line preparation.
- Adhere to facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
- Assist dietitians with patients on restricted diets or specific calorie counts.
- Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
- Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in the policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties assigned.
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.
