Position: Human Resources Manager - US (United States)

Human Resources Manager – United States

Perma-Pipe in Lebanon, Tennessee is hiring a Human Resources Manager to lead and oversee all HR functions across the United States operations. This role partners with senior leaders using data-driven approaches to align HR strategy with business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Business Leadership
    • Develop HR initiatives that support Perma-Pipe’s business strategy.
    • Identify opportunities for employee experience improvement and execute associated strategies.
    • Leverage people analytics to provide data‑driven insights that improve performance and employee experience.
    • Lead change management within supported business units.
    • Provide strategic leadership to build capability while modeling Perma-Pipe core values.
  • Talent Management
    • Oversee the talent management program for US operations.
    • Coordinate annual reviews, performance plans, talent development, succession planning, and position descriptions with the Corporate HR team.
  • Employee Relations
    • Champion employee engagement initiatives and resolve employee relations issues.
    • Develop strategies to improve turnover within business units.
    • Proactively manage union relations, including contract bargaining, grievance resolution, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Lead recruitment strategy with Talent Acquisition partners to attract high-performing talent.
    • Partner with hiring managers throughout all phases of recruiting, including job description development and interview selection.
    • Conduct orientations, benefit enrollment, and exit interviews.
    • Leverage technology to improve recruitment processes.
  • Compensation & Benefits
    • Lead compensation, insurance, and benefit programs across the business unit.
    • Advise staff on benefit eligibility.
    • Ensure compliance with union benefit payment and reporting requirements.
  • Health & Safety
    • Collaborate with safety management to maintain a healthy workplace.
    • Participate in monthly safety meetings and initiatives.
    • Oversee training on health and safety issues and support safety programs.
  • Compliance/Record Management/HRIS
    • Ensure compliance with all labor laws across jurisdictions.
    • Communicate new policies and provide training as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Required Experience
    • Five+ years of Human Resources Generalist/Management experience.
    • Significant experience resolving complex employee and labor relations issues.
    • Strong computer skills; familiarity with HRIS systems (Paycom preferred).
    • Two+ years in a union manufacturing facility.
    • Two+ years supporting sales and/or corporate employees.
  • Skills
    • Strong leadership and influence skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication.
    • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
    • Ability to build effective partnerships across senior leaders and frontline employees in both plant and corporate environments.
    • Results‑oriented with a track record of achieving goals under pressure.
    • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive major initiatives forward.
    • Strategic thinker with attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving.
    • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability.
    • Ability to handle high‑pressure situations and deadlines.
Travel

25% depending on business requirements.
