Job Summary
The Operations Leadership Trainee is an entry level/salaried leadership position that provides structure, time, and guidance for an individual to learn the various aspects of a Webstaurant Store distribution center and the expectations of our leadership team. The trainee is expected to be flexible regarding schedules and available to work any shift to fill leadership gaps or rotate through departments and shifts to gain full operational understanding.
The goal is to complete the training program and be placed in a permanent leadership position within the facility.
- Support the management of day‑to‑day decisions of the assigned department/shift regarding performance, process and leadership.
- Learn and understand the process of each department/shift, make connections to how each department interacts, and identify areas of improvement.
- Actively engage in leadership discussions and apply Webstaurant Store leadership principles to daily work.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for assigned departments; identify and resolve operating issues as needed, including support of corrective actions and progressive discipline process.
- Interact with employees regularly to promote a high level of engagement and ensure all safety regulations/rules are followed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Stand, walk, or work up to 12 hours/day.
- Communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Regularly bend, squat, crawl, climb, and reach.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights up to 75 lbs.
- 2 years of relevant management experience preferred but not required.
- Experience working in a distribution environment preferred.
This role does not require a degree. We value relevant skills and experience and alignment with our core values above all else.
Desired Traits & Skills- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts simply and concisely.
