General Labor (Welch Packaging)

Job Summary: Responsible for helping to create finished products by assisting with machine operation, manual labor, and maintaining production standards. Production associates also follow all safety procedures.

• Actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and production schedule.
• Ensure safety standards are maintained at all times.
• Setup and adjust machine settings to meet product specifications.
• Troubleshoot problems throughout production run.
• Checks and assures box quality, including loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.
• Adhere to production schedule and report any unusual scheduling issues to Production Lead.
• Perform job in a safe, efficient and productive manner, while maximizing the utilization of equipment at available capacity and speed.
• Train and assist assistants and helpers with job duties on the machine.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs and proactively maintain equipment.
• Follow all company, local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
• Other tasks as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Ability to work safely, adhering to all safety processes and policies.
• Forklift experience a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule on occasion to support operational and business needs.
• Strong written and oral communication.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand for 8–10 hours a day.
• Bend, stand, squat, twist repeatedly.

• Loud environment that requires hearing protection.
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
• Manufacturing facility with machinery and equipment.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock.
• Fast‑paced environment.
