Overview
Queenswood School are looking to recruit an outstanding SEN Teacher to join our Teaching team. We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs. You will hold UK QTS, be experienced teaching the Primary Curriculum, and be comfortable teaching students that are in early KS3.
Responsibilities- Oversee the planning of curriculum content to improve standards of learning and achievement for all, ensuring it is well sequenced to promote pupil progress.
- Ensure the planned curriculum is effectively and consistently implemented across the whole school.
- Work with teachers and other subject leads to build links between the LIFE curriculum and the wider curriculum.
- Ensure effective use of resources.
- Teach core subjects.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
- Foster a positive culture through strong interpersonal skills.
- Innovate and implement change with a visionary mindset.
- Support LIFE (literacy is for everything) within other subject areas (preferable).
- Hold UK QTS.
- Have significant classroom experience.
- Ideally have experience of teaching and supporting young people within SEN.
- Demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills and life experience.
- Be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references covering the last 3 years; references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults may be requested prior to interview.

Queenswood School in Ledbury, Herefordshire. Situated in a peaceful rural setting, we are an independent, specialist school providing education and care services to children and young people aged 11-19 years, with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties and a range of additional needs. This includes attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), attachment disorder, op positional defiant disorder (ODD), pathological demand avoidance (PDA), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), specific learning difficulties (SpLd) and an autistic spectrum condition (ASC).
