Multi-Skilled Engineer

Location: Newent

Salary: Approx £40,000

Permanent: 40 hours per week

Monday-Friday - Rotating Shifts (05:30-14:00 / 14:00-22:30)

25 Days Annual Leave + 8 Bank Holidays

Are you a hands‑on Engineer with both mechanical and electrical skills?

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are delighted to be supporting a leading food manufacturer based in Ledbury, who are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join their growing maintenance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent role within a business known for its quality, innovation, and investment in people.

The Role

As a Multi‑Skilled Engineer
, you’ll play a vital role in keeping production running smoothly, ensuring all machinery and equipment are maintained to the highest standard. You’ll be involved in planned and reactive maintenance, fault‑finding, and continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and restore machinery to operational condition.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Install and modify production equipment to optimise efficiency and safety.
  • Source, quote, and order replacement parts where required.
  • Support production teams and promote a culture of health, safety, and quality.
About You
  • Proven experience across mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Confident working with production equipment and PLCs.
  • Previous experience in an FMCG or food manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
Qualifications
  • You’ll hold a recognised engineering qualification such as:
  • Time‑Served Apprenticeship
  • City & Guilds in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
  • NVQ Level 4 / ONC / HND / BTEC
