Quality Technician

MCS are a composite tooling and component builder primarily serving the defence and leisure maritime industry. We run an impressive 5 axis CNC machining centre which includes the UK's largest 5 axis CNC machine. We pride ourselves on being a full service company where we can take client supplied CAD through a tooling process and into component build and final finish.

Due to a growth period in the maritime defence sector we currently have an opening for a Quality Technician to support the Quality Manager:

Responsibilities

* Provide detailed in-process and final inspection on composite components, using customer and company drawings to ensure product is manufactured to specification.

* Control of customer drawings.

* Reviewing updated drawings along with the Engineering team and actioning any changes.

* Creating and updating build packs and writing work instructions

* Updating drawing information on the MRP system.

* Inspection of new moulds prior to first production.

* Ensuring that all process paperwork is filled in correctly by the relevant personnel

* Generating Non-Conformance Reports

* Generating 8D reports

* Assisting with scope of supply docs

Skills & Qualifications

* Good communicator a strong team player

* Diploma or Degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline

* Ability to work to deadline

* Experience in a marine or composites environment is preferable

* ISO 9001 systems knowledge

* Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Job specifics

* Salary of £30,000 - £35,000 DOE

* 40 hours per week Mon-Fri
