Cost Accountant - Leeds, AL

Based in Leeds, AL and reporting directly to the Cost Manager, the Cost Accountant will serve as a key member of the Finance team and have responsibility for a variety costing and inventory activities. This position is principally responsible for the ongoing maintenance of standard costs, month‑end closing activities, reporting and controls.

• Monthly closing and reporting process, using financial reporting systems.
• Working with Bill of Materials and Product Routings through SAP system.
• Assist in monthly variance analysis including, but not limited to, PPV, freight, material usage, production order, labor, and burden (overhead) variances.
• Providing analysis and support to Internal and External Audits of the business.
• Reviewing, analysing and updating standard product costs as they relate to labour, material and overhead.
• Assist in cycle counts and physical inventories and reconcile all differences.
• Assisting with department spending analysis and facility budgets and forecasts.
• Support for internal and external audit activities.
• Performs other related work as assigned.

• 1–3 years cost accounting experience using SAP in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Strong analytical, planning and communication skills.
• Strong computer skills; proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel & Word.
