Senior Accountant
- Role Overview
Prepare statutory accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns for a varied client portfolio.
Act as a key client contact, building strong relationships and providing accounting support, including visiting client premises as required.
Support and mentor junior team members, working closely with Managers and Partners to develop team capability.
Utilise accounting software including Pro Audit, IRIS, Xero, and Sage to deliver accurate and timely work.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and firm quality processes.
Work with owner‑managed and family business clients, providing practical, value‑adding guidance on accounting and reporting matters.
Senior Accountant - Role Requirements
Fully qualified ACA or ACCA preferred.
At least 5 years' accounting experience, ideally within a practice environment.
Experience working with UK owner‑managed/family businesses, particularly FRS 102 reporting.
Strong technical accounting ability and good commercial awareness.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
Proficient in Excel and accounting software (Pro Audit, IRIS, Xero, Sage).
Full UK driving licence and use of a car, as the role involves visiting client sites.
Senior Accountant - Salary & Benefits
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Working hours:
38 hours per week
Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays
