Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 + bonus

Our client is a well-established, independent accountancy and business advisory firm in Leeds, continuing to grow and looking to add an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to their team.

• Preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and VAT returns for a varied portfolio
• Ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, and to a consistently high standard

• Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships
• Visiting client premises when needed to provide hands‑on support and advice

• Supporting with tax compliance and advisory work, including:
  Reviewing corporation tax returns;
  Assisting with capital allowance reviews.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver practical, commercial solutions

• Supporting and mentoring junior team members day‑to‑day
• Collaborating with Managers and Partners to deliver excellent client outcomes

• Using practice software and cloud tools including IRIS, Xero, Sage and Pro Audit
• Applying strong Excel capability to support reporting and analysis

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or exam finalist with strong relevant experience)
• 5+ years’ UK accountancy experience, ideally within a UK accountancy practice
• Proven experience preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and VAT returns
• Confidence working with UK owner‑managed and family‑run businesses
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting matters clearly to clients
• Strong Excel skills and a positive approach to using tech to improve efficiency
