Senior Accounts Payable Officer

Job Description

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our small but busy finance team. You will be the sole Accounts Payable professional, responsible for managing the full AP process across our 10 pubs. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will ensure invoices are processed accurately, payments are made on time, and strong relationships are maintained with suppliers and colleagues.

You'll be responsible for managing high-volume invoices, building strong relationships with suppliers, and ensuring our accounts payable function runs smoothly. This role offers the chance to grow with the business, taking on wider finance responsibilities over time.

• Process a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and manage payment runs on time
• Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries
• Handle account setups, forms, internal requests, and verification processes
• Manage multiple entities and shared email inboxes effectively

• Fully AAT-qualified / Accounting degree or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' recent experience in Accounts Payable
• Experience with in hospitality and multi-site or multi-entity environments is desirable
• Proficiency with Hubdoc, Xero, and advanced Excel is preferred
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the AP function
