Senior Accountant

We are working confidentially with a well‑established, independent chartered accountancy firm based in Leeds to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their Business Services team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant seeking a hands‑on, client‑facing role in a dynamic practice setting.

• Prepare statutory accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns for a varied client portfolio.
• Act as a key client contact, building strong relationships and providing accounting support, including visiting client premises as required.
• Support and mentor junior team members, working closely with Managers and Partners to develop team capability.
• Utilise accounting software including Pro Audit, IRIS, Xero, and Sage to deliver accurate and timely work.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and firm quality processes.
• Work with owner‑managed and family business clients, providing practical, value‑adding guidance on accounting and reporting matters.

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA preferred.
• At least 5 years' accounting experience, ideally within a practice environment.
• Experience working with UK owner‑managed/family businesses, particularly FRS 102 reporting.
• Strong technical accounting ability and good commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software (Pro Audit, IRIS, Xero, Sage).
• Full UK driving licence and use of a car, as the role involves visiting client sites.

• Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
