Vertu Volkswagen Leeds – Assistant Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team at Vertu Volkswagen Leeds
. This is a full‑time, permanent position offering a basic salary of up to £30,000, depending on experience, along with an excellent range of company benefits.

As Assistant Accountant, you will support the site Accountant with the preparation of spreadsheets, reports, and statistical analysis to assist the management team and inform key business decisions. You will be involved in both day‑to‑day accounting duties and wider financial processes across the dealership.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Preparing forecasts and estimates
  • Assisting in the production of Management Accounts
  • Payroll processing
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Cash flow management
  • Reconciling manufacturer bonuses
  • Credit control and related duties

This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, solid accounting experience, and a proactive approach to supporting operational performance.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Assistant Accountant, who is looking to take the next step up. A working knowledge of the Kerridge accounting system would be ideal but not essential, as well as previous Motor Trade experience. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with all financial and non-financial colleagues, clients and customers.
