This is an excellent opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Senior to join a well-established and growing firm in Leeds. You’ll work with a varied client portfolio, lead audit fieldwork, prepare statutory accounts and support junior colleagues — all within a collaborative and modern working environment.
The RoleAs Audit & Accounts Senior, you will take ownership of a broad mix of assignments, splitting your time between audit engagements and accounts preparation work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading audit fieldwork on-site and remotely, ensuring assignments run smoothly
- Preparing audit planning documentation and identifying key risk areas
- Completing substantive audit testing and reviewing the work of junior team members
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Preparing corporation tax computations to accompany year-end accounts
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients during assignments, providing clear and professional communication
- Supporting junior staff through coaching, reviewing work and offering guidance
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed time frames
- Assisting managers and partners with ad hoc technical queries and advisory projects
You’ll enjoy a varied role with excellent exposure across both audit and accounts disciplines.
About YouYou’ll be a capable and motivated accounting professional with strong audit experience and a desire to progress.
You will be:
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified, part qualified, or qualified by experience
- Have experience working in a UK accountancy practice, with exposure to both audit and accounts
- Be confident leading audit fieldwork and preparing year-end accounts independently
- Possess strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102
- Have solid communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships
- Be organised, deadline‑driven and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Enjoy mentoring junior team members and contributing to a supportive team culture
- Bring a proactive, problem‑solving mindset and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work
