Job Description & How to Apply Below

If you're an experienced Audit Manager looking to step into more complex client work, broaden your exposure to larger corporate and listed environments, and progress within a high-performing team, this opportunity is well worth a closer look.

We're partnering with a highly regarded national accountancy and advisory firm that is continuing to expand its Corporate Audit offering in Leeds. Due to sustained growth, the team is now seeking an Audit Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio spanning listed entities, international groups, and established privately owned businesses.

This is a role where technical challenge meets real influence, offering the chance to lead engagements, develop people and work closely with senior leadership on high-value assignments.

The Role

As an Audit Manager, you'll take responsibility for managing a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently, accurately and to a high professional standard from planning through to completion.

You’ll operate as a key point of contact for clients while also playing a central role in developing junior team members and supporting wider departmental initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing a portfolio of audit clients across a varied and high-quality client base
  • Leading audits from initial planning and risk assessment through to completion and sign-off
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients throughout the audit cycle
  • Reviewing and resolving complex accounting and audit issues as they arise
  • Advising clients on technical financial reporting matters including IFRS, FRS 102 and UK GAAP
  • Supervising, coaching and reviewing the work of audit teams
  • Supporting business development through identifying opportunities within existing relationships
  • Contributing to recruitment, training and performance development of junior staff
  • Working closely with senior leadership on operational and strategic projects

Alongside core audit delivery, you may also gain exposure to specialist project work including IPO support, due diligence assignments, forensic investigations and wider advisory engagements.

About You

We are looking for a qualified audit professional who is confident managing clients and teams, and who is ready to take the next step in their career within a growing practice environment.

You will ideally have:
  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • Strong external audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • At least 2-3 years' post-qualified experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience managing audit assignments and client portfolios
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, FRS 102 and UK reporting standards
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • The ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities effectively
  • A proactive, commercial mindset with an interest in development and growth

Exposure to listed entities or larger corporate groups would be highly beneficial, though not essential.

What's on Offer?
  • Salary of £60,000 - £72,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Strong career progression pathway towards Senior Manager level and beyond
  • Exposure to listed, international and high‑profile clients
  • Private medical cover
  • Enhanced pension scheme
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Structured learning, development and leadership training
  • Involvement in complex, high-value audit and advisory projects
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture

This is a standout opportunity for an Audit Manager looking to step into a more varied and technically challenging portfolio, while continuing to build long-term progression within a respected firm in Leeds.
