Producing service charge accounts for residential developments/block management.

Are you an experienced Service Charge Accountant looking to join a well-established boutique property management company where your expertise will be genuinely valued?

Our client is a respected independent property management company based in Hertfordshire, specialising in the management of residential developments/block management; they are looking to appoint an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their close-knit team.

The successful candidate will be ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualified, or qualified by experience, and will have a minimum of five years’ relevant service charge accounting experience.

The Role Key responsibilities
  • Preparing and finalising year-end accounts, avoiding Section 20b exposure
  • Handling accruals, prepayments, and financial reconciliations monthly
  • Collaborating with property managers to ensure clean financial reporting
  • Producing reconciliations
  • Attending internal, client, and auditor meetings to finalise accounts
  • Analysing variances and reconciling data from prior or incoming managing agents (New Business)
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting with insight on service charge performance
Qualifications
  • ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification, or be qualified by experience.
  • A minimum of five years’ relevant service charge accounting experience.
  • A strong understanding of service charge accounting and RICS/TPI guidelines.
  • Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate financial information to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
