Finance Manager – RTS Infrastructure (Part of Arriva Group) – Holbeck, Leeds

RTS Infrastructure is a trusted provider of rail infrastructure, construction and depot services across the UK. Based in Leeds, we work with major rail industry clients and deliver projects that keep the UK’s rail network moving. Following our recent acquisition by Arriva Group, we are entering a new chapter of growth, investment and opportunity within one of Europe’s leading passenger transport organisations.
The RoleThis is a varied and high‑impact role that balances financial leadership with hands‑on project accounting responsibilities. You will lead a small finance team while owning project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial business partnering across our construction and infrastructure operations.
- Lead the month‑end and period‑end reporting process.
- Produce management accounts, KPI reporting and business performance insights.
- Maintain the integrity of balance sheet and profit and loss reporting.
- Develop meaningful reporting that enables informed decision‑making across the business.
- Support the annual budgeting and business planning cycle.
- Partner with operational leaders and budget holders to improve commercial performance.
- Manage the financial performance of construction and infrastructure projects.
- Monitor project costs, revenues, margins, accruals and work‑in‑progress (WIP).
- Review and validate project forecasts, budgets and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Identify financial risks and opportunities across project portfolios.
- Produce detailed project performance analysis and recommendations.
- Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital performance.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of finance professionals.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, systems and controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies.
- Qualified finance professional with ACCA or CIMA (essential).
- Minimum 3 years’ post‑qualification experience.
- Experience with in construction, infrastructure or engineering environments.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Experience supporting project‑based businesses.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
- Sage 50 experience would be advantageous.
- Confident and supportive people leader.
