Lead Accountant

Lead Accountant Blyth | Full Time | Permanent Reed Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a well-established business in Blyth to recruit a Lead Accountant . This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to join a growing finance team and take ownership of the month-end reporting cycle while providing valuable financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.

This role would suit a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working closely with both operational stakeholders and finance colleagues, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities Take ownership of the month-end accounts production and reporting cycle Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals and prepayments Produce accurate and timely management accounts in line with reporting deadlines Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations Deliver monthly flash reports and weekly KPI reporting Oversee the accounts payable function, including reviewing and approving payment runs Provide financial analysis and insight to support business performance Support the Operations team and wider Group Finance function with reporting and project work Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and efficiencies Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across reporting activities About You To be successful in this role, you will have: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or be actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification Previous experience in a similar accounting or finance role within a commercial environment Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems (IFS experience would be advantageous) Experience producing management accounts and supporting month-end processes Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy The ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with stakeholders across the business A proactive approach and a desire to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives What's on Offer Opportunity to join a successful and expanding business Varied and commercially focused finance role Exposure to senior stakeholders and business-critical reporting Supportive and collaborative working environment Hybrid working arrangement Competitive salary and benefits package If you're a motivated finance professional looking to take the next step in your career and make a real impact within a growing organisation, we'd love to hear from you!
