Payroll Assistant

Location: Headingley

Payroll Assistant Rate;
Up to £250 (via umbrella/inside IR35) Location;
Bristol (3x weekly onsite) Duration; 6 month initial contract We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to support the delivery, control and financial accounting of payroll activity across multiple jurisdictions. This is a varied role that combines payroll operations, payroll accounting, compliance and colleague support.

Key Responsibilities Support the accurate and timely delivery of a monthly payroll for approximately 2,000 employees. Process payroll changes including starters, leavers, family leave, sickness absence and employee benefits. Review monthly payroll activity and provide clear explanations for changes in employee pay. Produce payroll controls and supporting documentation for management approval. Respond to payroll related colleague queries in a professional and timely manner.

Manage payroll tax activities, including taxable benefits and PAYE Settlement Agreement requirements. Calculate payroll adjustments relating to employee share option exercises. Prepare and post payroll related accounting journals and reconciliations. Support the accurate accounting of payroll costs, liabilities and provisions. Maintain payroll procedures, controls and process documentation. Keep up to date with payroll legislation, compliance requirements and payroll systems. Reasonable Adjustments:
