About the Role

As an Assistant Resource Coordinator you will support the Resources Coordinator in supervising a cohort of SILC team leaders, Assistant team leaders, drivers and Passenger assistants to deliver the day-to-day provision of the passenger transport service across the Leeds authority to approx. 4700 customers daily.

  • You will be instrumental in embedding legislation and council policies ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Resources Coordinator to ensure Drivers and Passenger Assistants understand and deliver the service within the agreed performance standards and work collaboratively with colleagues within the service to improve overall service standards, communication and performance.
  • Assist the Resources Coordinator to introduce processes, to assist in training, development plans to ensure a continuous programme of improvement is in place for the team.
  • Assist the Resources Coordinator in the smooth and efficient functioning of resources to support the service, ensuring all work targets are achieved and with the flexibility to cover these roles and identification of priority in the event of staff absence or high volumes of work.
  • Assist the Resources Coordinator in their responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of Drivers and Passengers Assistants including engaging staff in return to work, welfare checks and attendance management Stage 1 meetings only of a cohort of Drivers and Passenger Assistants to assist in delivering a 365-day transport service.
  • Assist the management team in gathering performance management information which focuses on efficiency, and productivity levels to support improving service standards and business needs whilst complying with GDPR and legal requirements.
  • Assist the Resources Coordinator in the administration of training.
  • Assist in the preparation of statistical returns as requested by the Senior Management Team.
  • Actively support the service by working on a rota system, and this could include undertaking reception duties and opening and closing the building alongside other members of the service.
  • Assist the Resources Coordinator in their contribution to strategy and workforce planning as required.
  • Assist the Resources Coordinator to ensure Drivers and Passenger Assistants are supported, flexible and accountable to ensure an efficient in-house service is provided.
  • Assist in the delivery of a professional, efficient, and effective passenger transport service that responds to the passenger, customers, and clients across a wide range of services functions.
  • Assist the Resources Coordinator in the allocation of drivers and vehicles to deliver an efficient and effective service which meets performance standards, passenger, and client needs.
  • Undertake driving duties and cover transport routes where necessary to support the service.
  • Use appropriate software to change and dispatch routes/vehicles to ensure in-house service is always efficient.
  • Assist in gathering information in order for the service to be able to respond in complaints and other enquiries from passengers or clients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Promote cross-service working with other services within the Council.
  • Support Resources Coordinator in ensuring all legislation and all council policies and procedures are fully implemented.
