Trainee Estimator

Derek Mitchell Group Ltd is looking for a Trainee Estimator to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone at the start of their career who is organised, motivated and keen to learn. You don’t need previous experience but knowledge of the industry would be advantageous, full training and ongoing support will be provided.

You’ll work alongside an experienced team and learn how projects are priced, organised and managed from start to finish, while developing valuable skills that can help you build a long-term career.

• Assisting with preparing estimates and quotations
• Obtaining prices from suppliers and subcontractors
• Helping with tender submissions
• Supporting project administration
• Maintaining project documentation and records
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and contractors
• Updating spreadsheets and project information
• Providing general administrative support to the team

You’ll be given the training and guidance you need to develop into the role.

• Is organised and pays attention to detail
• Is confident using a computer
• Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Has good communication skills
• Is reliable and motivated
• Is willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
