Business Development Manager – Independent Manufacturing Company

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000, DOE, plus benefits package.

Location:

Leeds (Hybrid Working).

Benefits include a hybrid car, bonus based on performance or 1% on new business sales, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, profit sharing scheme, life insurance 3x salary, laptop, and phone.

Responsibilities
  • Find new leads, prospects and develop a pipeline to achieve £500,000‑£1,000,000 in new business.
  • Target the food, homecare, health, horticultural, DIY, pet care and engineering sectors.
  • Identify new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, services and prospects.
  • Negotiate and provide commercial follow‑up of UK customers and expand into further markets targeted by the organisation.
  • Contribute to team targets and exceed department goals.
  • Take an active role in sales budget development, monitor revenue and margins, promote the company image and improve initiatives.
  • Conduct weekly reports on customer visits, pipeline, sales projections, etc.
  • Provide excellent communication channels both internally and externally.
Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1‑4 years in print & packaging.
  • Experience setting own short, medium and long‑term new business targets and adopting a strategic and consultative approach.
  • Ability to hit a new business target of £500,000‑£1,000,000 in the specified sectors.
  • Excellent understanding of the UK market.
  • Proficient in developing new business opportunities and building on successes.
  • Capability to nurture existing accounts and improve gross margins.
  • Strong sense of business relationships and customer service.
  • High interest in the technical dimension of the products.
