In this role, you’ll guide clients through the venue and meeting sourcing process, communicating with internal and external partners, and leading the logistics of your project from end-to-end.
- Lead client calls to review and understand their meeting needs and ensure programs exceed requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and other package details with suppliers to support the client while meeting their savings and spend expectations.
- Conduct RFPs with hotels and suppliers to secure room blocks and other logistical needs.
- Participate in re‑negotiations or cancellation negotiations as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and files, and collaborate with accounting to supervise billing, expenses, and savings negotiations.
- Evaluate and supervise program impact and outcomes, building a plan for continuous improvement.
- Proactively develop positive relationships with multiple members of the client team, suppliers, Amex GBT team and support departments.
- Act as a leader by promoting a positive team environment and assisting with onboarding new colleagues as needed.
- 5+ years in meeting management, hotel procurement or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Cvent and a preferred CMP designation.
- Extensive knowledge of domestic destinations (international experience a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent listening skills and a passion for learning.
- Proactive understanding of client needs and a consultative approach to enacting change.
- Collaborative mindset and passion for building relationships.
- Available to travel.
