Commercial Lead, Business Development

Experteer Overview In this role you will act as an internal advisor to account teams and an external consultant to customers, focusing on commercial and procurement challenges. You will own the commercial solutioning for large or complex bids and ensure governance to keep the business safe and commercially sustainable. Working with a small team, you'll contribute to refining Softcat's commercial offering through various projects and initiatives.

You will engage with senior stakeholders to design tailored commercial agreements and improve win rates, making a meaningful impact on profitability and risk management. Pay / Benefits

• Host and manage outcomes of Big Deal Reviews (BDRs)
• Guide risk mitigation and commercial governance in engagements
• Engage with customers as a Commercial Specialist
• Own commercial solutioning for large/complex bids
• Design commercial agreements aligned with Softcat strategy
• Drive decision‑making with senior stakeholders
• Provide qualification guidance and improve win chances during BDRs
• Run commercial modelling for complex/high‑value opportunities and present options for sign‑off
• Lead solutioning for strategic preferred supply opportunities

• Experience in a customer-facing role
• Experience identifying risk
• Experience in the IT channel (preferred)
• Experience contributing written content for bids, proposals, and customer documentation
• Experience chairing meetings and events

• Hybrid working - 3 days in the office and 2 days at home
