Senior Estimator

We have an opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join our successful pre‑construction Team based in either our Team Valley or Leeds office covering the North East and Yorkshire.

Job Description

Reporting to the Pre‑Construction Director duties will involve a broad range of bid management, estimating and pricing duties. The successful candidate will require experience of typical procurement routes including Single and Two Stage Tendering, Design & Build, Frameworks and Negotiated Tenders.

What you will be doing:
  • Cost Planning and Analytical/ 1 st Principles Estimating
  • Measuring and taking off quantities from drawings – electronic and paper
  • Preparing bill of quantity / pricing documentation
  • Preparing and sending out sub‑contract and materials enquiries
  • Specification analysis & review
  • Reviewing enquiry returns / checking compliance
  • Compilation of pricing elements to form tender sum
  • Preparing tenders for adjudication / settlement meetings
  • Commercial review of opportunities and tender documents
  • Commercial and Financial analysis of Risk & Opportunity
  • Development of Supply Chain & Supplier relations to assist in optimising commercial position
About You:
  • Proven track record of preparing tenders for major building projects
  • Ideally experience working with a Main Contractor
  • You must have a clean driving licence to be considered for this role
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements and willing to accept change
  • A self‑starter capable of working on your own initiative
