Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with Project Team Leaders and clients, presenting innovative schemes, managing project timelines, and ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Take the lead as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent across a range of building projects, utilising all standard forms of construction and assuming full responsibility for project execution.
  • Conduct site visits and produce comprehensive inspection reports.
  • Deliver initial appraisals and feasibility studies to guide client decision-making.
  • Carry out measured surveys of existing buildings and sites, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop and present outline design proposals, including budget estimations.
  • Produce full working drawings to facilitate project construction.
  • Manage statutory approval applications, including Planning, Listed Building Consent and Building Control.
  • Draft specifications, schedules of work and assist with bills of quantities.
  • Lead the tender process, analyse bids, and compile insightful tender reports.
  • Prepare and manage contract documentation, adhering to best practice and verification strategies.
  • Develop maintenance manuals and provide ongoing support for completed projects.
  • Deliver professional services including Party Wall procedures, schedules of condition, and detailed condition reports for future maintenance planning.
  • Lead and manage projects and project teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Candidates
  • Have post-qualification experience (BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or equivalent), or a breadth of knowledge and competence that matches this role
  • Hold or be working towards MRICS status
  • Have successful experience of working within and leading interdisciplinary project teams
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent core building surveying and project management skills
