An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction contractor delivering projects across Yorkshire.

Working closely with the Directors, you'll take full commercial responsibility for up to three live construction projects at any one time, with individual project values of up to £5 million
. This is a key commercial position offering genuine autonomy, the opportunity to influence project performance, and play an important role in the continued growth of the business.

You'll be supported by a dedicated Procurement Administrator, allowing you to focus on the commercial management of your projects from procurement through to final account.

• Commercial management of up to three live construction projects simultaneously.
• Preparing and managing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
• Producing client valuations and applications for payment.
• Managing and agreeing client variations.
• Cost forecasting and budget control.
• Negotiating and appointing subcontractors.
• Reviewing subcontractor applications for payment and variation accounts.
• Administering and reviewing contract documentation.
• Identifying commercial risks and maximising commercial opportunities.
• Attending client progress meetings and subcontractor pre-start meetings.
• Supporting project teams to ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
• Preparing, negotiating and agreeing final accounts with both clients and subcontractors.

• Minimum four years' Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry.
• Experience commercially managing multiple live projects simultaneously.
• Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
• Experience working on construction projects valued up to £5 million
  .
• Good working knowledge of JCT forms of contract.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Good IT proficiency.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

• Experience working for a regional main contractor.
• Previous involvement in projects across a variety of construction sectors.
• Experience taking projects from procurement through to final account.
• Exposure to managing relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
