Project Manager - Leeds

Our client is a well-established and highly respected independent construction and property consultancy, delivering first-class Cost Management, Project Management and specialist consultancy services across the UK and internationally.

With a strong reputation for delivering exceptional projects and building long-term relationships with clients, they are continuing to grow their Project Management team in Leeds.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Project Manager looking to work on a diverse range of projects, develop their career and progress within a business that genuinely invests in its people.

Working as part of a dynamic and growing Project Management team, you will be involved in the delivery of a wide variety of projects across multiple sectors.

There are no rigid sector boundaries, meaning you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to interesting and challenging projects while working alongside experienced Project Managers, Directors and senior industry professionals.

You will take responsibility for key elements of project delivery and play an important role in ensuring projects are delivered successfully for clients.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being client-facing, takes ownership of their work and has the ambition to progress into a senior leadership position in the future.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting Senior Project Managers, Associate Directors, Directors and Partners in the successful delivery of projects.
  • Taking ownership of key elements of projects and managing responsibilities from start to finish.
  • Managing project administration, reporting and action tracking.
  • Coordinating and liaising with clients, consultants, contractors and wider project teams.
  • Attending site inspections and project meetings.
  • Maintaining key project documentation, including risk registers, programmes, project execution plans and project directories.
  • Supporting the procurement of consultants, contractors, surveys and specialist services.
  • Monitoring consultant appointments, invoicing and monthly client submissions.
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes.
  • Supporting design management and coordinating the wider professional team.
  • Working closely with Cost Managers to understand project costs and achieve the best commercial outcomes for clients.
  • Supporting project controls, governance, risk management and value management.
  • Assisting with procurement and contractor appointment processes.
  • Supporting contract administration and Employer's Agent duties where required.
  • Managing and supporting projects through construction, completion and handover.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted member of the project team.
  • Understanding the wider commercial aspects of projects, including appointments, scopes of service, fees and cashflows.
  • Assisting with fee proposals and business development opportunities.
You will also have the opportunity to develop your knowledge across the full project lifecycle, including:
  • Site acquisition and due diligence.
  • Brief development and objective setting.
  • Planning and master planning.
  • Design management.
  • Procurement.
  • Programme and construction logistics.
  • Contract administration.
  • Quality management.
  • Risk and value management.
  • Project completion and handover.
About You

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for Project Management and the construction and property industry.

You will ideally have:
  • A degree in a relevant construction, property or project management discipline.
  • Previous experience working within a Project Management or construction consultancy environment.
  • Experience supporting or managing projects through key stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and project teams.
  • A proactive attitude with the confidence to take ownership and use your initiative.
