Job Description
The Company A dynamic Main Contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects for a long list of blue-chip clients. Their sterling reputation as a contractor has allowed them to branch out into numerous markets including:
Civil Engineering & Infrastructure, Residential, Commercial & Retail to name a few, with project sizes ranging from £20m - £100m. The company put relationships at the heart of everything that they do. This is reflected in the fact that they have used many of the same sub-contractors since their early days as a contractor and also enjoy an incredibly high level of repeat business with clients that they have built solid professional relationships with.
- Assisting with the pricing of some of the region's larger schemes.
- Managing the commercial reporting of other, smaller schemes across the region.
- Managing and mentoring a team of QSs at various levels.
- Issuing and commercial management of sub-contract tender packages.
- Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Reviewing of contract documents.
- Managing and maintaining relationships with an established list of supply chain sub-contractors.
- Attending internal and external commercial review meetings.
- Aiding with submission of client valuations and management of the variation account.
- Management of subcontract accounts from procurement to final account.
- Preparation and assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works.
- Exposure in Highways would be highly advantageous
- Experience of, or clear readiness for, managing a team of QSs.
- Comfortable balancing hands-on commercial delivery on major schemes with oversight of a wider team and portfolio.
- Candidates currently operating as a Senior QS and ready to make the step up to Managing QS level are encouraged to apply.
You will be given the opportunity to earn up to £85,000 per annum, plus package. Car or car allowance is included in their benefits package as well as a competitive pension contribution, private healthcare and an additional bonus scheme
