We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of civil engineering, remediation, earthworks and enabling works projects across the UK. This is a senior delivery position with responsibility for projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover. The successful candidate will manage programme, commercial performance, health and safety, quality, subcontractors and client relationships.
- Taking overall responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of assigned projects.
- Managing projects from mobilisation through construction, completion and handover.
- Developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets and delivery plans.
- Managing Site Managers, Project Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors and operational teams.
- Coordinating labour, plant, materials, specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitoring project costs, progress, productivity and commercial performance.
- Managing variations, change control, valuations and project reporting alongside the commercial team.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, contracts, RAMS and technical documentation.
- Chairing progress meetings and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and delivery partners.
- Identifying and managing programme, commercial, technical and health and safety risks.
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures, environmental requirements and relevant legislation.
- Supporting tender handovers, pre-construction planning and project mobilisation.
- Producing accurate progress reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Driving projects through to successful completion, final account and handover.
Required Experience Applicants should have at least five years' experience managing projects within one or more of the following sectors:
- Remediation and contaminated land
- Civil engineering
- Earthworks and groundworks
- Ground engineering
- Demolition and enabling works
- Infrastructure and utilities
- Environmental construction
Candidates should also have:
- A proven record of delivering technically challenging construction projects.
- Experience managing project programmes, budgets and operational teams.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of contract administration.
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multiple site disciplines.
- Good knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.
- Strong client-facing, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage several priorities in a fast-moving project environment.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
- SMSTS and a valid CSCS card are required.
- Temporary Works, First Aid, environmental or relevant technical qualifications would be advantageous.
