Site Manager – Civil Engineering & Groundworks

Up to £65,000, depending on experience, plus package

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor specialising in the residential sector.

Working in partnership with several leading house builders, the company delivers groundworks and civil engineering packages across residential developments throughout Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong groundworks background to join a growing business, overseeing site operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be willing to travel to sites across Yorkshire.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of groundworks and civil engineering operations across residential developments, working closely with clients, subcontractors and site teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Managing daily site operations across residential groundworks and civil engineering projects.

* Coordinating subcontractors, labour, plant and materials to maintain progress against agreed programmes.

* Overseeing groundworks activities, including foundations, drainage, roads, sewers and associated infrastructure.

* Monitoring progress, identifying potential delays and implementing solutions to keep projects on schedule.

* Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and required quality standards.

* Maintaining high standards of health and safety, ensuring compliance with site procedures and relevant legislation.

* Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks and safety briefings.

* Liaising with house builder clients, Contracts Managers and other project stakeholders.

* Monitoring resource requirements, productivity and site performance.

* Maintaining accurate site records and providing regular progress reports.

* Identifying and resolving site issues while ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and within programme.

About You

To be considered for this position, you will have:

* Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or groundworks.

* A strong background in residential groundworks, ideally working on developments for volume or regional house builders.

* Experience managing subcontractors, site teams, plant and materials.

* A good understanding of foundations, drainage, roads, sewers and associated infrastructure.

* A strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and build programmes.

* SMSTS certification.

* A valid CSCS card.

* First Aid at Work certification.

* A solid understanding of health and safety requirements and construction site procedures.

* Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

* A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel to sites across Yorkshire.
