This is an outstanding opportunity to join a highly respected practice with a long-standing reputation for delivering exceptional education projects across the UK. Working on a diverse portfolio spanning primary, secondary, SEN, further and higher education, you'll have the opportunity to influence projects from concept through to completion whilst helping shape the future growth of the team.
Whether you're an Architect or CIAT-qualified Architectural Technologist, this role will suit an ambitious individual who combines excellent technical expertise with strong leadership and client-facing skills.
The Role
Working closely with the Studio Director, you will take ownership of the technical, commercial and overall delivery of complex education projects, leading multidisciplinary teams through all RIBA stages with a particular focus on technical delivery and construction.
You'll become a trusted advisor to clients, contractors and consultants whilst mentoring junior team members and helping drive project quality, profitability and successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities - Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead the delivery of education projects from design development through to completion.
Develop coordinated technical solutions in line with DfE and relevant education standards.
Manage project programmes, resources, risk, budgets and change control.
Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams throughout all project stages.
Chair client, consultant, technical and site meetings.
Oversee construction-stage delivery including RFIs, technical queries, contractor liaison and project close-out.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Technical Leadership
Lead the production and coordination of technical information.
Act as the technical lead for Revit and BIM coordination across projects.
Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, CDM, statutory requirements and education sector standards.
Promote robust, sustainable and buildable design solutions throughout project delivery.
Maintain high standards of quality assurance across all technical outputs.
Client & Team Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
Lead client engagement throughout project delivery.
Mentor and support Architects, Technologists and junior team members.
Report project performance, commercial progress and risks to senior leadership.
Support business growth through exceptional client service and repeat business opportunities.
We're keen to speak with experienced Architects or Architectural Technologists who can demonstrate:
Qualified Architect (ARB) or Chartered Architectural Technologist (CIAT) status.
Approximately 5+ years' post-qualification experience.
Proven experience delivering UK education projects.
Strong understanding of DfE standards and education design principles.
Excellent technical knowledge with experience across RIBA Stages 3-6.
Advanced Revit and BIM coordination skills.
Strong leadership, communication and project management abilities.
Experience managing clients, consultants and contractors.
A collaborative approach with the ability to mentor and develop others.
Experience working on projects through the DfE framework or similar public sector education frameworks would be highly advantageous.
What's on Offer
Salary of £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience.
Excellent benefits package.
Continued Professional Development (CPD) programme.
Opportunity to work on nationally recognised education projects.
Genuine influence within a growing education team.
Clear pathway for continued career progression.
Collaborative, supportive and design-focused studio environment.
Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
If you're an experienced Architect or Architectural Technologist looking to take on a leadership role within one of the UK's most respected architectural practices, we'd love to hear from you.
