An exciting opportunity to join one of England's largest care home developers, supporting the interior design of schemes across a national portfolio from initial concept through to specification and handover. Working closely with the in-house Land, Planning, Development Design and Technical teams, and external consultants, you'll gain hands‑on exposure to a live, fast-moving development pipeline, shaping the interior environments of our care homes.
The PersonA qualified interior designer, enthusiastic about high‑quality care environments, with a proactive and pragmatic approach. Comfortable working on allocated tasks with support, collaborating across disciplines, and responding well to feedback. Organised and capable of managing competing deadlines within a fast‑paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities- Support the development of interior design concepts and layouts, responding to site constraints, building design and care operational requirements.
- Produce and maintain interior specification packages, including layouts, finishes, furniture and fittings, under guidance.
- Assist in progressing interior schemes through internal design review, liaising with the Development Design and Technical teams and responding to feedback.
- Support design amendments and visualisation/presentation material for design reviews and stakeholder approval.
- Coordinate with external consultants and suppliers to optimise interior specifications and procurement.
- Manage personal workload across multiple projects, attend site visits, and maintain accurate records.
- A qualification in Interior Design or Interior Architecture (or equivalent), with some practical experience in an interior design or development design role.
- Developing knowledge of specifying for the care sector, including dementia friendly and accessible design principles.
- Proficiency in relevant design software, including 3D visualisation tools.
- Good communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative, feedback open approach.
- Interest in pursuing further professional development and accreditation (e.g. BIID).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally, subject to reasonable adjustments.
Based at Company HQ in Leeds, with site and local authority visits as required.
