ST3+ Trust Grade Doctor in Trauma and Orthopaedics
Wehave an exciting opportunity here at Leeds Teaching Hospitals due to an expansion of our rota. We are recruiting 1 Trust Grade Doctor (Level ST3+) postwithin the second largest Major Trauma Centre in the UK based at the Leeds General Infirmary. This appointment isfor 12 months starting 1 May 2026. This post is currently for 12 months only.
Theposts have been designed for experienced doctors wishing to pursue a career in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
The applicant must have full GMC registration with license to practice, a minimumof two years previous experience in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, a minimumof 12 months experience as a doctor in the NHS, valid ATLS certification andmust have full MRCS or equivalent. Experience as a registrar is desirable
Aboveall we need a ST3+ Trust Grade Doctor in Trauma and Orthopaedics with apositive attitude, who will deliver quality services with compassion and becomean integral member of a dedicated and dynamic team. Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work with a team of surgeons to provide inpatient care for both trauma and elective patients. The post holder will be on a 24 hour partial shift, on the third tier supporting the FY1/2, and ST1/2 doctors.
Their duties will include:
- Fracture Clinics
- Trauma and Elective Orthopaedic surgery
- Ward rounds and patient reviews
- Support to FY1/2, and ST1/2 doctors.
- Full in house educational and clinical supervision and mentoring package
- Access to participate in on-going departmental research and audit presentations.
- Opportunities to teach undergraduates
- Access to clinical governance meetings.
We are looking for a resident doctor to take up full and/or part-time posts and can offer deferred appointments. Candidates who are unable to work full time are encouraged to apply and consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part-time and those wishing to job share. Shorter duration contracts will also be considered for the right candidate.
