The appointee will also have the opportunity in the future totake part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in treatment,staff training and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcare services for a diverse, patient list.

We are a well-regarded, high-performing training practice
, serving a diverse patient population of approximately 21,000 patients across North Leeds, from Harehills to Shadwell. Our vision is to provide quality patient-centred care.
Our practice has a strong reputation for medical education, supporting GP registrars, medical students, and nursing trainees in a collaborative and structured environment. Our two purpose-built, modern premises are located in Harehills and Moortown
. All clinicians work across both sites, promoting collaboration and shared expertise. Our team is clinically highly capable, and supportive and we value diversity. This ensures excellent patient care and strong peer support.
The team includes:
- 4 GP Partners and 1 ANP Partner
- GP Registrars
- Pharmacy Technician and prescribing team
- 5 Practice Nurses
- 4 Health Care Assistants
- An administration and reception team led by an experienced practice manager
Our multidisciplinary model allows GPs to focus on clinical care while benefiting from a rich educational environment.
Job responsibilitiesJob Description
Reporting to: Senior GPPartner
Hours of work: Full time / Part time
Contract type: Permanent
Role summary: Thepost-holder will provide general medical services managing a caseload and dealwith a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients
Location: You would be expected to work across both sites in Harehills and Moortown
Annual leave: Six weeks annual leave pluspublic/ bank holidays (pro rata)
Study leave: One week per annum, included inannual leave allowance.
Salary: Negotiableand in line with tier progression model, depending on qualifications and experience
Main purpose of the role:
To support the Partners to managea varied and interesting clinical caseload. The appointee will also have the opportunity in the future to take part in leading on key disease areas(monitoring trends in treatment, staff training and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcare services for a diverse, patient list.
Clinical responsibilities:
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will makehim/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging,checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patienttest results, referral letters NHS/private, paperwork and correspondence in atimely manner;
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whet herself-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation;
- Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards;
- Collectingdata for audit purposes;
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible);
- Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines.
- In general,the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
