The Leeds Emergency Medicine Departments offer 12-month Clinical Fellowships designed to provide individually tailored experience and training for those who want to develop a special interest in specific areas of Emergency Medicine
Fellowship posts are available from May and August 2026 onwards. We have been running a very successful programme with non- clinical roles already in ultrasound, research and quality improvement, ambulatory care medicine, post-graduate and undergraduate education, simulation and emergency care with elderly medicine.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will be working at 80/20 clinical to non-clinical split of total contracted time. There will be funding available for attending relevant external courses or Post graduation Certification.
The posts are offered on a fixed term contract for 12 months in the first instance. The post holder must be registered with GMC and hold a license to practice.
About us
The post holder will be responsible for delivering care to patients within the Emergency Departments at the Leeds General Infirmary and St James University Hospital.
The posts are adaptable to suit the level of experience of the candidate - Candidates must have a minimum of 4 months Emergency Medicine or Acute Medicine Experience. The post will help the doctor develop skills in areas of education/ Simulation/ AI/Ultrasound. There will be an expectation the post holder will support other educational and QI activity in the department.
