Permanent Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to provide expert activity in both skin cancer treatment and trauma or skin cancer treatment and orthognathic surgery. We will gladly discuss this with interested individuals, please get in touch! The candidate will contribute to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on-call rota, covering a diverse area of North Yorkshire. This will be on a 1:6 basis (7-day pattern with Friday morning handover).

The Maxillofacial Surgery team carries out a large number of surgical procedures for Facial Cutaneous Malignancy each year. There is a well-established weekly Skin MDT based at the York site; this MDT has close links with the Head and Neck MDT. Management of OMFS Head & Neck Cancer is run jointly with colleagues in Hull and Leeds with AHP, Restorative and CNS support provided locally.

There is an Orthognathic MDT run on a monthly basis with Orthodontics with 3D planning and excellent laboratory support. The Head & Neck and Plastics Directorate consists of Maxillofacial Surgery, ENT, Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry, Audiology and Plastics and has its own dedicated Outpatient setting and Outpatients reception team in York. There is a very supportive managerial team and good administrative and secretarial support.
