Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed salaried GP (full or part time) to join our existing experienced and dedicated team here at Tower House.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services to the practice population
  • Undertake a mix of face-to-face, telephone and home visit appointments
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
  • Prescribe safely and effectively in line with current guidelines and best practice
  • Manage and monitor long-term conditions
  • Review and action pathology results, clinical correspondence, and other patient-related documentation promptly
  • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physiotherapists and other allied health professionals
  • Support safeguarding responsibilities for both children and vulnerable adults
  • Contribute to quality improvement, audits, and practice development initiatives
  • Engage in CPD and the appraisal process.
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards

About us

Tower House is a 14500 list size PMS practice located in the seaside town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight.

7 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, 4 ANPs, a 15 strong nurse and HCA team all supported by a large reception/administrative team.

Our wider team includes:

  • Mental Health Practitioners
  • FCP practitioners
  • Social Prescribers
  • Health and Wellbeing Coach

We are a training practice supporting GP Registrars, Foundations Doctors, Medical Students and Apprentices.

We are a Systm One practice using various IT software including eConsult and Accurx.

Qualifications Essential
  • Qualified GP with full GMC registration status MRCGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
  • Evidence of current validation evidence of last appraisal eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
  • Experience of working in primary care environment
  • experience of continued professional development
  • experience of QOF and clinical audits
  • Experience of medicines management
  • General understanding of the primary care contract
Skills Essential
  • Excellent communication skills (Written and oral)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Clear, polite telephone manner
  • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook EMIS/Systmone/Vision user skills
  • Effective time management (planning and organising)
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously

  • Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
  • Experience with clinical management
  • Ability to work under pressure in stressful situations
