About the Role

The Education Network Leeds is recruiting committed and caring Autism Teaching Assistants to support pupils across mainstream schools and specialist provisions in the Leeds area. This role involves providing tailored support to children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them engage with learning, develop social and communication skills, and feel confident in a structured, supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Providing one-to-one or small-group support to pupils with autism
  • Supporting communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation
  • Implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
  • Assisting teachers in adapting activities and delivering lessons
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Helping to maintain a calm, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting children or young people with autism or additional needs
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A relevant qualification is beneficial but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary: £90-£100 per day (depending on experience)
