Teaching Assistant

About The Role

Leader Education is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in Leeds, supporting students aged 7-18 with moderate to severe learning difficulties and SEMH needs.

• Mentor and support learners through curriculum‑based classroom support, home tuition, outreach, and outdoor activities.
• Assist with learning preparation and delivery of objectives, with a strong focus on behavioural management.
• Monitor progress and regularly report on learner development and any barriers to learning.
• Engage with parents and caregivers, maintaining regular communication to support each student’s educational journey.

• Passion for SEND and a committed approach to working with students who have SEND.
• At least two years of experience in a SEND environment or a similar provision.
• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous, with higher pay for holders.

This role takes place in a complex needs setting for 7-18 year olds, both boys and girls, with moderate to severe learning difficulties and SEMH needs based in Leeds.
