PMLD Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Teaching Assistant to join a warm, supportive SEN school where every day brings new opportunities to change lives.

About the Role

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with significant learning, physical, and sensory needs. You'll work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver tailored learning, communication, and care plans.

? Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with PMLD
• Assist with sensory-based learning activities and communication strategies
• Support personal care needs with dignity and respect
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
• Use specialist equipment (e.g. hoists, communication aids - training provided)
• Work collaboratively with staff and families to promote positive outcomes

? What We're Looking For

• Experience in SEN, care, or supporting individuals with complex needs (preferred but not essential)
• A kind, calm, and resilient approach
• Willingness to undertake training (manual handling, medication, communication systems etc.)
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who require high levels of support
• A genuine desire to make a difference
