Swimming Teacher

Overview

Help teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water. We focus on technique-based but fun teaching with the philosophy that practice makes perfect.

• Take part in a 1 hour training session every 40 hours worked.
• Follow Ducklings and Dolphins rules, policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children and health & safety at work.
• Plan and deliver swimming sessions appropriate to the level of the swimmer.
• Provide explanations, demonstrate swimming techniques, correct faults, and identify ways to improve performance.
• Ensure safe provision of equipment and adherence to safety standards.
• Identify participants’ abilities, encourage them to reach their potential.
• Create a positive and fun environment, motivate and encourage participation.
• Assess each participant’s ability and progress and arrange for award of appropriate qualifications.
• Set ground rules for each session, evaluate sessions, and give feedback.
• Support people with additional support or learning difficulties and barriers to learning.
• Be professional, punctual, well‑organised, and a good communicator with children and adults.
• Work well as a team member.

• ASA Level 2 or equivalent (required).
• Level 2 Swim teachers qualification.
• Enhanced DBS checked.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Understanding of relevant policies and codes of practice.

£20 per hour. Bradford/Leeds.
