SEN Teaching Assistant

Engage Education are currently working in partnership with a primary school in LS26 who are looking for an outstanding SEN Teaching Assistant with Makaton experience to join them on a long term temporary basis. If the role goes well there is the potential for this to turn into a permanent assignment.

Your Role:

• Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex learning needs
• Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
• Providing feedback to teachers and parents
• Assisting pupils with Complex Communication and Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities

What you will need:

• A range of behaviour management techniques
• Experience working with learners with a range of needs
• The ability to engage a young person in learning through various methods
• Commitment to working at the school for an extended period
• A resilient attitude
