Position: Mainstream Primary SEN TA September Start

Do you believe that every child deserves a tailored approach to learning, no matter their barriers?

Are you looking for a rewarding role where no two days are ever the same?

Could you be the calm, supportive anchor a child with additional needs can rely on this coming September?

Randstad Education is currently recruiting dedicated and empathetic Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants to join our supply team in Leeds. Starting this September, you will be working within mainstream primary schools, providing vital support to children who need an extra layer of guidance, patience, and encouragement to thrive in a standard classroom environment.

The Role

As an SEN TA in a mainstream setting, your day will be centered around inclusion. You will work closely with the school s SENDCo and class teachers to ensure your assigned pupils can access the curriculum safely and happily.

Key Responsibilities:
  • One-to-One Support: Work closely with individual pupils with varied needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or global development delay.

  • EHCP Implementation: Assist in delivering the specific targets outlined in a child s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

  • Sensory & De-escalation: Recognise triggers and implement calming strategies or sensory breaks when a pupil becomes overwhelmed.

  • Fostering Independence: Gently encourage pupils to build social skills and independence both in the classroom and during playground intervals.

Requirements
  • Essential: Applicants must have UK experience supporting children with additional needs, preferably within a primary school or specialised setting.

  • A deeply patient, resilient, and compassionate nature.

  • A good understanding of positive behaviour strategies and adaptive learning techniques.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete a new check through Randstad).

What We Offer
  • Flexible Scheduling: Choose between day-to-day supply cover or long-term block placements that match your lifestyle.

  • Competitive Weekly Pay: Earn excellent daily rates, paid via PAYE every Friday.

  • Professional Growth: Free access to specialist CPD courses, including Safeguarding and Team Teach techniques.

  • Referral Scheme: Receive £300 in high street vouchers for every educational peer you successfully refer to us.
