We are recruiting a Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant to join the dedicated team at a Specialist School in Boston Spa, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.

The specialist learning spaces support children and young people who are hearing impaired, on the autistic spectrum, or have complex sensory and communication needs. - Help create positive, structured, and inclusive learning environments
- Support sensory regulation and engagement through specialist learning spaces and interventions
- Encourage participation in classroom activities, enrichment opportunities, and wider school life
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, specialist support staff, and families to meet individual pupil needs
- Assist with lesson preparation and the adaptation of learning resources
This role is ideal for:

No previous school experience is required — we are looking for individuals who are patient, compassionate, adaptable, and committed to helping every pupil succeed.
Requirements- Commitment to completing an 11-month apprenticeship programme
- GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above preferred
- Eligibility to undertake a government-funded apprenticeship
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn specialist SEND approaches
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
- Fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Flexible study completed around school commitments and school holiday periods
